Back at my desk following a fantastic week playing golf in the beautiful Antrim Glens with the London GAA. The ‘tour’ consisted of Ballycastle, Cushendall, Glengorm Castle and ‘The Riverside’ at Portstewart. We also had a sneak peek at Royal Portrush which will be hosting the Open in July. The weather Gods were kind all week, the locals were the friendliest people on the planet, I partnered my father on two rounds and actually played consistently good golf! Lot’s of new friends and the group also had some fantastic story tellers and singers. We loved every minute of the tour .

DSA sponsors local golf day.
DSA Golf is delighted to be again involved with the Farnham Lions. This time though, we’re on the golf course where we belong! Shooting Star Children’s Hospice is also well known to us. I honestly can’t think of a better beneficiary for this wonderful event. To date, more than £140,000 has been raised by the popular annual outing which supports a different charity each year. This is the 24th year and it will take place, as usual, at beautiful Hindhead GC on August 29th. Shooting Star Children’s Hospices cares for babies and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. It costs Shooting Star £10m a year just to maintain its current level of care. Only 10% of that income comes from government funding, so the charity relies on donations to keep the service running.
As well as sharing sponsorship with Howard Taylor Associates, we will be entering a team of four to enjoy the day. We’ve packed DSA Golf branded goody bags for all those taking part. We’re also suppling a wee something for the raffle/auction at end of play. Anyone wishing to join us for a fun day out should contact the Farnham Lions directly. For sponsorship opportunities or to donate auction or raffle prizes, please e-mail golf@farnhamlions.org.uk.
Bridgestone golf balls.
DSA Golf is delighted to have become an official distributor of corporate printed Bridgestone golf balls. Tiger Woods adopted the Bridgestone Golf ball in 2016, and currently plays the Tour B XS ball. Bridgestone balls won three of the four FedEx Cup Playoff events in 2018 and in 2018, Bridgestone Golf had more wins per tour team member than any other golf ball company. Our website has already been loaded with the current golf ball offerings. Be a Tiger…
Half Term Helper
Young Rose offered up a day from her half term break to help us pack an order for an upcoming golf event. Service with a smile – she was an absolute delight to have in the office and she charmed everyone else in the building too. Rose was handsomely rewarded and informs us that the hard-earned cash will be saved until her summer holidays.
Titleist National Fitting Centre
We made the most of our visit to Titleist HQ by combining it with a session at the Titleist National Fitting Centre. I had the loft on my trusty 917D increased and got to try out the new TS2 & TS3 drivers. Kudos to fitting technician Paul who has the patience of a saint…
GAA Golf Day
I took a day away from the desk to play in the annual GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) golf day at Mill Hill – and retained the Mike Harrington Generation Cup for best Father & Son team. Well done Dad – but this trophy is staying in the office this year. 🙂
Gosh Golf Day
We are delighted to have donated 25 dz GOSH branded Titleist golf balls for this wonderful event. A whopping £80K was raised towards vital equipment at Great Ormond Street Hospital 🙂 #doingourbit
The teams were captained by none other David Ginola for the blues & Mark Foster for the reds.
A wet day in London
We spent a wet day in the city visiting a few select clients. For the inner geek it was perfect weather for a bit of corporate umbrella spotting. I’ve pictured one poor individual that obviously needs to switch supplier.
to see so many of our own umbrellas marching up and down the Leadenhall area. I’m sure passers by were wondering what I was smiling about…
Farnborough International Air Show
There’s some amazing activity in the skies above our offices this week and it’s tempting to move the laptops out into the sunshine for a better view. Of course phone calls can be challenging when F16’s etc are screaming past so we’re sticking primarily to email communication this week. Normal service resumes on Monday…
BMW PGA @ Wentworth
We took little R&R outing to watch the BMW PGA championships at Wentworth. Right on our doorstep, free access and glorious sunshine all weekend. A little sunburned, but very worth it…
